On Saturday 29th of June 2013 we held the Park Centenary Gala day and what a day it was! There was everything from a traction engine,horse carriage rides, funfair stalls, birds of prey,vintage cars, a children’s entertainer, and even a brass band!! Even the Scottish weather behaved for a change and that famous West of Scotland rain stayed away! Centenary The day saw hundreds of people turn out to enjoy themselves - and they did! We even had some dignitaries - the South Lanarkshire Provost attended along with other various councillors and MP’s.The Friends of the Park Committee Members were dressed in period costume from 100 years ago, and very splendid they looked too! There was lots of entertainment down at the bandstand including the Co-op Brass Band,Piggery Brae,the Rock and Pop Chorus,and The Rutherglen Repertory Theatre.The Committee would like to thank everyone who came and enjoyed the day and all those who helped to make it such a success. The meetings of the FoCP are on the second Tuesday of every month at the Cambuslang Institute,
Greenlees road, Cambuslang. All at 7:00pm. Unless stated here.
