On Saturday 29th June 2013 we held the Park Centenary Gala Day. There was everything from a traction engine, horse carriage rides, funfair stalls, birds of prey, vintage cars, a children's entertainer and a brass band.
The day saw hundreds of people turn out to enjoy themselves. The South Lanarkshire Provost attended along with Councillors and MPs.
The Friends of the Park Committee Members were dressed in period costume from 100 years ago.
Our unique bandstand hosted the Co-op Brass Band, Piggery Brae, the Rock and Pop Chorus and The Rutherglen Repertory Theatre.
The committee thanks everyone who came along and enjoyed the day and all those who helped to make it such a success.
